Oraquick Life As We Know ItEssence and Oraquick hosted an event here in Houston where guest were invited to discuss relationship questions with Relationship Coach and Blogger Demetria of a Belle in Brooklyn and Blood, Sweat, and Heels, relationship coach Tony Gaskin, and Charreah Jacksom, Relationship Editor for Essence Magazine. I loved hearing the different answers that each one of the panelist had regarding the many difficult things that come up in relationships. It was mostly women who attended the event and it was kind of funny to hear the questions they had. I learned alot.

I got there a little late, which is totally unlike me, so I didn’t have a super close seat. This is a cell phone picture so it’s not that great of quality.

Even though the event was sponosred by Oraquick, we didn’t really discuss HIV/AIDs, but the startling statistics were EVERYWHERE, you couldn’t help but to notice them, read them, and internalize the information.. Oraquick provides at home test that allow you to know your status within 20 minutes all from the privacy of your own home.

I was really anxious to get an ESSENCE swag bag…I mean who wouldn’t be?

Demetria and I. During the meet and greet I was able to personally speak with Demetria and ask her questions that I didn’t want to ask in front of everyone else. She was very nice and very sweet. I wanted to purchase her book but I didn’t have any cash. I’m for sure purchasing “Don’t Waste Your Pretty” though.

Tony and I. I also spoke to Tony about my personal dating life and he made some great suggestions. He also said to reach out to him on Twitter if I have any questions about anything…he followed back!

Swag Bag contents!

The event was fun and informative. They were giving out some blue drinks and I think I had a few too many. I ended up staying at the mall for a few hours later trying to get myself together.
