Classes Are Back In: My First Week

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

NO BBQ or PARTIES FOR ME.
I’M AT HOME RESTING AFTER MY FIRST WEEK BACK IN SCHOOL.

My second time tailgating…it rained.
Obviously, I used to be a cheerleader. LOL

So last week was my first week back in classes. Yes, I took summer school, but those classes were online and minimal interaction. Being back in school and working two jobs is tough. I’m back to my routine of homework, work-work, early bedtimes, and even earlier mornings. It’s cool though, I love to be back in routine! LOL But anyways here is a summary of my first week back.

Monday

My lab was canceled and I had just got out of the hospital.
I skipped school…and went to work.

Tuesday

I live three minutes away from school (literally) and I got to school at 7:30 (my class doesn’t start until 8:30) and the parking situation was a mess! I moved from my on campus apartment which is pretty much equi-distant to where I live now, and last year I would leave at 8 to be there for my 8:30. UH is doing several construction projects and has closed 3 parking lots! HOT MESS! I’m prepared to leave every day at 7:15 now.
My Math Modeling ( sounds remedial LOL but it’s not!) professor is shy grad student who has poor English and technology skills. It will be a longgg semester but I read his rate my professor–everyone said it was easy. I’m staying in!
Cost Controls is not bad, except for its so far from my Math Modeling course! My legs get really weak and I got really hot when walking long distances. The UH shuttle is a joke and I’ll be late if I take it. I’ll figure something out.
My Food Production and Operation teacher called me “Sunglasses”-RUDE!!
Homecoming Office Hours=me dancing to Trey Songz around the office making everyone feel uncomfortable.
My Non-Profit Management course is a night class-6 to 9 pm. I’m going to need the teacher to not keep us until 9:15 next time!

Wednesday

Went to work from 8am-3:30pm…it’s awkward not going to work everyday like I did this summer!
CATS BACK was fun! It’s a welcome event held at UH where there is free food and giveaways! I got a lot of cool stuff from Seventeen!

Thursday

Pretty much the same thing as Tuesday, except I got there early enough to get a better parking spot and eat breakfast.
I went to Financial Services to figure out why I haven’t gotten my refund yet…apparently, they aren’t disbursing private scholarships until the 3rd of September and Federal grants until the 12th….How Rude!!! That’s one thing I miss about going to Sam Houston…we always had our financial aid anywhere from a week to three days before school started! I still haven;t bought all my books!
Meetings with new Assistant Directors for Homecoming! Go Coogs!
Yay!! For no night class!
Henri Bendel Event for Simon Stylesetter! I had a terrible headache, so I had to leave early and not get a goodie bag! 🙁 I didn’t even meet Lynne, the Stylesetter!

Friday

9am Homecoming Meeting…whose idea was it to take our board pictures outside!!??
I ran around making additional reservations and preparation for Homecoming Week…yes, people we don’t just throw stuff together, we’ve been planning since June!
Non-Profit Leadership Alliance Officer Meeting…pretty much straightforward
Practicum 2…just went to the first class meeting to figure out what I need to do to not have to attend this class! LOL I took practicum one in the summer and it was easyyyy. She changed it for the fall…and the class now meets every Friday, instead of once a month! But you don’t have to attend class, if you do the other assignments…I’m already two weeks ahead! LOL
