Last week I went to New York for the very first time! As a lover of both fashion and travel–I was so excited for this experience. I left home in the wee hours of the morning to get to the airport for my 7am flight. Soon as I got on the plane…I knocked out! Lol I don’t remember the flight attendants going over the safety rules and I didn’t even get my snack…but the rest was much needed. When I landed in New York I woke up feeling funny and then I realized…my period started. I was so freaking mad! Let me tell you about my period…we have a good working relationship, she comes for 3 days (usually a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and leaves. She doesn’t give me cramps or headaches–just a little bloating and a constant craving for glazed pastries. But this time she was early…like a whole week early and I wasn’t prepared! I rushed to the nearest store inside the airport to purchase some feminine products…chile, they were $12! Are you serious? That is robbery! I was not about to pay that…I had clothes to buy and every dollar counts! I went to the restroom and scrambled around in my purse and there it was…my saving grace…a U by Kotex liner! I have a super light flow, so this was able to save me until after I did some site seeing.

The packaging of the liners are so fun and discrete–they almost look like candy–not a feminine product. I just toss it in my purse with the rest of my essentials.

I wear dresses a lot–I love them! Dresses are my go to outfit and I pretty much wear one at least 4 days out of the week, then maybe a skirt on the other days. The only time I don’t like to wear dresses is when I’m on my period…if you ever see me wearing jeans…there’s an 88.2% chance that Aunt Flo is visiting. For some reason I feel more secure with pants? Idk, but since she came so unexpectedly this time…I wasn’t armed with jeans or pants in general, so I was I was kind of worried, however, these trusty little things got the job done and I was pretty carefree…I mean I was in New York…I couldn’t be moping around acting all menstrual! Lol

New York was a blast! I got to see so many things and I purchased a ton of stuff…I’m not even going to look at my credit card statement…I’m just going to pay whatever they say to pay. Lol I’m so glad my trip wasn’t ruined and I’m even more glad I didn’t purchase those super expensive off brand products from the airport! U By Kotex has neat packaging that doesn’t scream “menstruation device inside”, you can keep them in your purse and no one will even notice what they are. Check out the U by Kotex website to see what products work for you!

  1. Oh my goodness, I’m so jealous of your trip! I’ve always wanted to go to New York and for some reason just haven’t made it yet. Maybe someday 😉 Glad you had such a great time!

  2. Girl I love your outfits… I use to be like you jeans during that time. Heck travel would have been out of the question. U by Kotex sure are reliable… Love all your outfits and this post.. 🙂

  3. You look gorgeous! I wish I had it so easy with that time of the month. I will have to check these out. I hate to carry things because my toddler and preschoolers are such sharers of items in my purse.
