So when I originally saw the Facebook ad for the Divas 5K and Marathon Series I got so excited! I was like there are other  grown women who will wear pink and run in tutus?? OMG I have to go! I initially wanted to do the half-marathon but I hadn’t really trained for it and I knew I wasn’t going to stick with a rigorous 4 month training plan. Plus, I wanted my friends to do it with me and they most definitely weren’t about to run 13.1 miles just because they love me. 

My friend Paige agreed to do the race with me and we decided to turn the race weekend into a mini relaxation trip since Galveston is an hour away from us.So we packed up our overnight bags (All pink everything!) and headed to Galveston. Now after going to Jamaica for Spring Break, the Galveston beaches were not whats up. Chile, the water was brown. We opted to enjoy Italian Ices and some “Mexican Food” that ended up leaving our stomachs tore up instead!

I just love how pink everything was. With our registration we got a cute drawstring bag and a t-shirt. The race was fun. Everyone was so encouraging and positive. There were kids and husbands cheering on their moms and groups of friends running together–y’all know I’m all about girl power. It was beautiful!

Lol Oh, and why does Paige look so tall? I swear I’m not short! I’m never wearing those leg warmers again…they are cutting my legs off. Lol 

After the race we were greeted with roses, champagne, and our super cool medals! I was so thirsty , I just drank my water and used that champagne as a prop for my photos. Oh we also got  a photo with this guy. He was hilarious.

So I really enjoyed the run! And this was definitely a good warm-up for the half-marathon I need to run before the year is over. Sidenote, do you see my edges? #Laid You’d never know I had natural hair. Lol 

I may or may not have walked around in my race clothes and medal for hours after the race was over and I had already left Galveston.
