I’ve been in my apartment for almost a year and I’m finally getting things that I really need…like a dining room table, a dresser for my bedroom, heck…I just got a microwave a few months ago. (Signs I’m a bachelorette) You can definitely tell I don’t entertain in my apartment much…or cook very much either.  I’m working on being more domestic and I’ve tried to make my kitchen a fun place to be. One of my goals for 2013 was to entertain more at my apartment. How can I do that without a table for people to eat at?  Since, I had such good luck finding my pink sofa , I scoured the internet for a pink dining room table, but no such luck. Just, as I had created my own pink dinner trays…I had to create this pink dining room table too! Of course I headed to Craigslist, where someone else’s trash is my future treasure. I found a great wooden table with 4 chairs for $25! It was originally from Ikea and was still in great condition.

Diamond in the rough. I met at a sketchy part of town in Houston to pick it up…Craigslist transactions always feel like a drug deal to me.

I headed to Home Depot to pick out the perfect color. I wanted a pink…but I also wanted glitter. It was hard time deciding between all those beautiful shades. Of course I went with the cutest cost effective option.

Picking out colors at Home Depot is so hard, but super fun when a hottie helps mix your paint!

I ended up choosing a super cute pink and the Martha Stewart paint that had glitter in it. I wanted to do the entire table in the Martha Stewart color but that just would have been too much money. I think I paid $15 for the 8 oz!

Martha Stewart is wrong for making me pay $15 for that little thing of paint!

I didn’t do this project all by myself. I definitely don’t have patience. I left this at my parents house and made this a family project. My dad did the hard work like, priming, sanding, and the intial painting. Then my more detailed mom and sister Hollye did the finishing touches! It turned out great!

There are so many hidden treasures on Craigslist!

What do you think of my table?
