For those of you who may not know, I’m not just a Barbie, I collect Barbie’s as well! I have only been collecting Barbie’s for two years, but it has been a wonderful experience. I sort of just transitioned from playing with my Barbie’s to collecting them (yes, I still had some in high school.), and now I’m seeing how expensive of a habit this can be. Not that that’s going to stop me, I just have to make sure that I plan and budget accordingly,
Last week the summer catalog came out and I was so excited! Even though I was selected to be on the Barbie Collector Advisory Panel and had already had a sneak peak of the entire collector line until Fall 2013, I was still shocked! There are four catalogs a year, (winter, summer, spring, and fall), and generally, I want at most two things from the catalog, but this season, I want a lot! Here are some of the things that I want from the summer catalog:
Barbie I Can Be President Doll
Did you know that Barbie was running for president this year? This will be her fifth time running, but I think this is her best outfit yet! She is wearing a custom pink suit, with red, white, and blue accents designed by Chris Benz! One of the other members of the Advisory Panel worked for Chris Benz!Yeah, she is planning to turn the White House Pink! You can follow her glampaign here!
This doll is only $13.99 on the collector website. I purchased it last week as a birthday present to myself. It’s at my parents house waiting for me!

Evening Gown Barbie Doll
I love this doll! She is a Silkstone Barbie and it’s really tough to get African American dolls like this because the sell out fast! I called the next day it was realized and set up a payment plan. This doll is $125, but it’s a Gold Label doll designed by the awesome Robert Best. This doll should be at my parent house too.

I don’t know if this is everywhere but I was told on two separate occasions that you can’t wear your candidates’ shirt or button to the polls. As much as I want to support my president as he is up for re-election, I rather not risk being turned away. I’ll just cast my ballot and wear this super cute t-shirt! This shirt is $21.

The dolls pictured above are all part of the University Barbie’s Line. They are so fun! I wish they had a University of Houston Barbie but I’m definitely getting all of these! They are $24.95 each and are Pink Label dolls.
