Brides Against Breast Cancer (BABC) is a non-profit organization that puts on a traveling bridal gown sale. The proceeds from the sale help to fund programs for cancer patients and survivors. I’ve written about BABC before and I knew that next time they came to Houston, I wanted to help out in a big way! So this time, I helped out in all the ways that I could! I volunteered, served as the City Coordinator, and even had a booth to advertise my event planning business, Taylor Made Events. As the city coordinator, I had to help find vendors, promote the event, and find models for the news segment.

The actual show was fun too! I met a ton of brides and got a ton of leads for future weddings. The atmosphere was so fun! There was food, music, photo boots, and pink champagne. Every time a bride bought a dress, they would ring a bell and we’d all clap. I tried to volunteer in the back with the wedding dresses, but I’m such a crybaby! I was getting all emotional! Even though I’m a wedding planner, I find myself crying at most weddings I attend or plan.
This was such a fun and rewarding experience! Next time Brides Against Breast Cancer is here…I’ll be there again! You should come out too! If you aren’t in Houston! Go to their website to see when they are coming to your city!
What a great idea! And congrats on your publicity! Keep it up… this is great work!

Great writeup!! I’m volunteering this year with my mom π It sounds like such a great organization and cause – I’m so excited to get involved!! Are you still involved with BABC? Will you be there this weekend? Also, do you need any models for tv or any sort of appearances? Just let me know!!! I love helping out with charity fashion shows and things like that π
